Sil-A-Chrome will be noticed by fish and fishermen alike! Chrome foil scales are applied to the silicone to provide a brilliant color flash in the water. This silicone skirt material is used to make skirts for jigs, spinnerbaits and other lures. Each 5/8" wide by 5" long strip(called a pad) is cut into 22 individual strands and tabbed at each end for ease of use. Use 2 pads for a standard skirt or up to 3 pads for a full skirt. You can also use partial pads as accent colors. Cut off end tabs after you tie the skirt using our rubber skirt collars or thread. The possibilities are endless. Sold 10 skirt pads to a pack. Mix and match for the quantity pricing.

LurePartsOnline.com carries a wide range of silicone skirt material. Silicone is an ideal product for making fishing lure skirts as it is elastic, durable, and retains its color. Silicone will not “melt” in your tackle box (like the traditional rubber skirts did) and will not react to or bleed out when in contact with soft plastic lures. This material comes in finely cut strips (often called tabs or pads) that are attached at both ends to ensure efficient skirt assembly. The tips, which hold the material together, are only cut off after the assembly is complete, allowing the skirt strands to spring free. Your skirt is now ready to fish!

Rubber collars are the most common way to “tie” skirts, however, some anglers prefer to tie skirts with thread where a tighter collar can be achieved with more flare. Rubber collars come in numerous styles, from simple bands to collars that have rattle holders. For assembly, you will need a device to stretch the collar open in order to insert your skirt material.

Skirts can be made with the desired “fullness” for your application. See the four most common skirt types below. Of course, the sky is the limit when making your own skirts, and they can be customized down to the last strand! Tab colors can be mixed and matched to achieve the desired color pattern.

Lite Skirt – 35 strands (1 full tab & 1 half tab)

Standard Skirt – 44 strands (2 full tabs)

Accent Skirt – 55 strands (2 full tabs and 1 half tab accent)

Full Skirt – 66 strands (3 full tabs)

Highly reflective

I love these skirts for my spinnerbaits. If you need bright and flashy, these skirts catch fish! Easy to tie using the rubber collars. Best color is the clear silver. Sun catches the silver foil and flashes bright.

Great for Fly Tying.

I have used these for years in my fly tying. The many colors are helpful to match the color of the flies I tie. They make great legs and tails. I have also used them as the "body" of flies, especially small flies. Caution: you can not synch them down to tight as the thread will cut the material. Love them also for Jigs, spinnerbaits, etc.
